South African Women in Construction (SAWIC & BE) is a pioneering organization dedicated to empowering previously disadvantaged women in the construction sector. Established in 1997 by the late Minister of Public Works, Hon. Stella Sigcau, SAWIC & BE has been a driving force in promoting gender equality and economic empowerment within the industry.
Our mission is to create business opportunities, advocate for policy reforms, and encourage more women to participate in the building, civil, and electrical construction sectors.
SAWIC & BE is dedicated to empowering women in the construction industry through advocacy, education, networking, and collaboration. We strive to create an inclusive and equitable environment where women can thrive and contribute significantly to the economic development of South Africa.
